Himaharju Foster Home

Himaharju Foster Home was established in 1999. There are places for 17 school age children and youngsters (7-16 years) taken into care. Himaharju is a private Child Welfare Office. The main building of Himaharju and a building called Elinantalo are located at Harju farm, 17 kilometres from the City of Kiuruvesi at Luupuvesi village. A developmental apartment (for those youngsters who are practicing living on their own) at Lähteentie is located in the urban area of Kiuruvesi. Himaharju also has developmental apartments at Kiuruvesi and Iisalmi for aftercare (for those youngsters who are starting their own lives).
